Selection Process

Selection Procedure for SSC Group B and C The selection process for various positions under groups B and C in CGL 2024 consists of two stages:

Stage 1

The first phase, Phase 1, comprises a computer-based test designed to serve as an initial screening. This internet-based assessment covers multiple-choice questions in four primary areas: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. The primary goal of Phase 1 is to sift through candidates and identify those eligible for the subsequent phase. The scores obtained in this phase are crucial in determining eligibility for Phase 2, but they do not impact the final selection.

Stage 2

The final phase of the selection process is vital for choosing the candidates. This phase includes several exams, each concentrating on different subject areas and specific positions. Like Stage 1, Stage 2 is also a computer-based test with objective multiple-choice questions. Each exam has a set time limit and scoring system, which are specified in the official announcement. The ultimate merit list is created based on the marks achieved in Stage 2, as only these scores are considered for the final selection.
