Eligibility Criteria
The OTET examination comprises two levels – Paper 1 (Class 1 to 5) and Paper 2 (Class 6 to 8). The eligibility criteria for both papers are as follows:
Paper 1 (Class 1 to 5) Criteria:
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Higher Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed, as per NCTE regulations.
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
- Graduation and a 2-year D.El.Ed.
Paper 2 (Upper Primary) Criteria:
- Graduation with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
- Graduation with 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Graduation with 45% marks and a 1-year B.Ed, as per NCTE regulations.
- Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
- Graduation with 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Please note that the above marks are the minimum requirement, and candidates can score higher.
Exam Duration and Marking Scheme
The exam duration for both papers is 2 hours and 30 minutes. The total marks awarded are 150, with 150 multiple-choice questions. There is no negative marking.
How to Apply?
- Visit the Official Website: The first step is to visit the official OTET website (www.bseodisha.ac.in). The application forms will be available here from 24th June 2024.
- Find the Application Form: Look for the link to the OTET 2024 application form on the homepage of the official website. Click on this link to access the form.
